From Didier Derny I got this information:

In France there was an internationalized version of the PET.

As Commodore was late with the internationalized keyboard
The company I was working for, PROCEP produced its own French keyboard
(Procep was the official importator of Commodore in France)

Later when it was available, it was replaced by the commodore keyboard
The French Keyboard, said “Commodore Keyboard” was derived from the German Keyboard.
(I went to commodore plant in Germany to finalize the French version of the keyboard)

I still have a copy of the French eproms for the commodore 8000

Btw the Pet sold in france had an extra EPROM in $A000 delivered on all pet.
This rom was a basic extension, but it only works with the right set of French eproms.

Some information on the Japanese version can be found on the Keyboards page for now.

Some information on the German version can be found on the Keyboards page for now.
